POP Piano syllabus

be able to play your favourite tunes, by ear!
analyse actual CD songs and learn to play as close as possible to them.
accompaniment playing.
learn about chords and its application.
learn chords progressions and its application.
identify the key and timing of various songs.
expressions and feel of songs.
learn to read solfege.
learn different playing styles.
fill-ins, rhythmic patterns, transition melody.
learn to be sensitive to rhythms and pick them up quickly and accurately.
be able to sense tempo accurately, helping in correct expression of songs.
simple / advanced theory and their applications (with some knowledge from ABRSM grade 8 theory).
deep understanding and playing in C major and A minor keys
    (with an understanding in other keys as well, like D major, for up-key purposes).
better appreciation and understanding of music, in general.

 

POP Guitar syllabus
be able to play your favourite tunes, by ear!

sight-reading ability on single-line drum parts as well as multi-line drum parts.
strong development of individual creativity.
exploring different genres other than pop, like jazz, rock, latin, fusion, country etc.
based largely on Gary Chester's proven set of systems.
playing realistically to CDs.
to fully understand the different parts of a drum set and its applications to thousands of songs.
